The online offerings are currently instead of any live classes due to Lockdown. Once lockdown is lifted I am aiming to integrate these online classes into my week still as they have been successful. If you attend a class you are able to receive the recorded copy of the session also to repeat in the week. You are also able to join this class by just receiving the recorded copy if you cant make the class.

For all these classes I will request that you fill out the appropriate consultation form, and make payment online.

TREATMENT CONSULTATIONS ONLINE

How do these sessions work? 

  • We will arrange a suitable time when we are both available. I can be quite flexible with this as Im happy to work around my other sessions and appointments, so I don’t set a specific time. 
  • Payment can be made on the website at this stage. 
  • Sessions are over zoom, so I shall send you a link by email which you use to join the meeting. You will need to download zoom if you don’t already have it, but its free to do so. 
  • You will receive a consultation form to fill out if you are a new client, so I will use that as a basis during the session then add to it as we go on. 
  • Depending on what you are presenting with, I may ask you to perform some movements or describe your pain/discomfort to me, so we can ascertain whats causing it. during the session you may be shown and asked to do some self massage or some stretching to be able to really pin the issue down.  
  • The session will end once we feel we have covered the issue, and you have had the opportunity to ask the questions you need to ask and feel confident that we have found a cause or answer to your pain/discomfort. 
  • Once the session is over I will send you back up videos/PDFs which will help to remind you of any homework you need to do. This may be in the form of self massage with a ball, foam roller or your own hands, or using stretching and strengthening exercises. 
  • We will also make an appointment for a week or twos time to be able to revisit the issue and see how you are doing. You are more than welcome to contact me in between this time for more assistance or help if you so wish. This is about getting you out of your pain, so we don’t have to stick to time schedules. 
  • If after the follow up session more appointments are needed, these will need to be paid for as a further session.

HIIT CIRCUIT CLASS ONLINE

This class is a 45 minute fat burning, strength building, low impact, high intensity class. Its made up of 30 minutes of HIIT circuit followed by 15 minutes of a full body stretch and release, and relaxation for those who wish to stay. 

Exercise needs to be FUN and not a chore, it needs to be seen as working with the body rather than punishing it and this is exactly what this class does. You will leave this class feeling energy boosted and with your body worked, stretched and released. 

This class is not for any specific age group or ability. Whether you are pregnant, postnatal, in rehab, or just want a quick, low impact high intensity class this one is for you! 

The focus of the class is adding strength and cardio to your movement whilst making sure the core and pelvic floor are targeted and respected. 

You dont need anything to join the class but you can use weights, bands or kettlebells to add resistance or body weight.

Pregnancy Exercise & Lifestyle Class

This is a weekly class currently held online via Zoom, Wednesday evenings at 7pm.

Ladies are welcome to join once they are 12 weeks pregnant and can stay on with the class until they have their baby!

This class is for you if you want to get 100% clear on:

  • How to exercise safely in pregnancy without harming your baby
  • How to treat some pregnancy aches and pains effectively
  • Keeping your body strong for labour and challenges of being a new Mum
  • Learning stretches to aid your baby into an Optimal birthing position
  • Eating healthy and nutritious meals and snacks
  • Learn ways to relax your body and mind
  • Meeting other mums going through the same stage in life
  • Learn from a specialist

This is a weekly class held at Little Therapy Space, Wednesday evenings at 7pm. Ladies are welcome to join once they are 12 weeks pregnant and can stay on with the class until they have their baby! Some ladies still attend at 41 weeks, and I just cater some work for them!

The class is made up of a 20 minute circuit using bands, weights and body weight. You are encouraged to work to your own level as you are all at different stages of pregnancy and have different exercise backgrounds.

Each week we cover posture, breathing, pelvic floor contraction and activation of the deep abdominals. These will be worked into every day Mum movements making sure you use them correctly with good form and posture, and activate and engage your core rather than your back.

We cover stretches and movements for helping baby into the optimal birthing position which can be used at home during the week to help baby find its way into the position ideal for birth. As an experienced and specialist pregnancy and postnatal massage therapist I can also pass on advice and techniques on working with typical aches and pains in the upper and lower body and help you relieve them rather than try and cope with them.

We will also look at ways to stabilise and strengthen the pelvis, so keeping it mobile, flexible and strong to lessen the pain of pelvic girdle pain. I have had several women with this condition join in and found the class very beneficial.

We will always finish the session with some relaxation time, and use music and visualisations to work on the journey ahead. This is your time to relax and allow the body some well deserved quiet time in your busy week.

What you will need:

  • Mats and equipment are provided, including cushions and blankets for the relax time but please bring anything you feel you may need. Balls and bands used during class can be purchased if you wish to use them at home.
  • Please bring your own water for your use throughout the class
  • Come in comfortable clothing that is easy to move in. Bring layers as you may get very warm once you start working, and then chill once you start to relax.

Factsheets will be provided most weeks covering different areas of pregnancy, including nutrition, tips on sleeping, perineal massage, local professionals I can recommend, preparing for labour, and packing your hospital bag! You will be added to a Whats App group and a closed Facebook group which is a great way to communicate and grow friendships. Nutritious homemade protein balls are provided for you at the end of each session to help your body after its exercise!

Pricing

Sessions are sold in blocks so you will need to be booked on to attend a class. The blocks can be used over a period of time which allows you to miss some classes if necessary without losing out on the money.

Return to Exercise & Lifestyle Course

This course is suitable for women from 6 weeks after a natural birth or 12 weeks after a C section delivery.

Babies are very welcome to join us, as we are online via Zoom.

Thursday 10-11am & 11:15am-12:15pm – ONLINE

Level 1 

This is a 60 minute, 6 week course for Postnatal women or women returning to exercise after some time off, or after an op or being in rehab. You need to be a minimum of 6 weeks Post vaginal birth and 12 weeks post C section. 

We start week 1 with just 10 minutes cardio, building up to 30 minutes by week 6. Every week there will be core work, working with the deep core muscles, and glutes to strengthen the core and hips. Each week we build on the previous week, so getting stronger and fitter week on week. You each work to your own level, as there is no competition, only against yourself! 

You will receive a healthy recipe, a weekly affirmation and a restorative task to do, for YOU! 

The only equipment you will need is some light weights, an exercise band (which I can provide) and a space to work out, and work on the floor! 

Before starting the class, it would be good to have a chat about your goals, and how you are feeling in yourself. I will send you several videos to watch before starting the course covering the basics of Posture, Breathing, Pelvic floor contraction and relaxation as well as engaging deep abdominals. 

Level 2 

This is an ideal class to progress onto after level 1, or for women who have already been doing some exercise and want to take their training further.

We will be doing 30 minutes of HIIT followed by core work to strengthen and tone the body, always looking at making the body strong and fit. 

You will receive weekly healthy recipes, affirmations and a restorative task just for YOU! 

The only equipment you will need is some light weights, an exercise band (which I can provide) and a space to work out, and work on the floor! 

You are able to stay on this level, or progress to the 9am HIIT class if you want to!

Pregnancy Offerings

BIRTH SKILLS WORKSHOP

Birth skills tuition for pregnant ladies and their birth partners.

This workshop is suitable for any couples wanting to learn a little more about the birthing process and how we can actively make it a little easier for the Mother.

 

One or two birth partners are welcome to attend with the Mother to be able to learn how they can support her throughout the labour process.

The workshop will cover:

  • The stages of labour
  • Breathing techniques that can be used during the different stages
  • Optimal birthing positions to labour in and give birth in
  • Visualisations that can be used to aid pain in labour
  • Massage techniques that can be used in late pregnancy and in labour

As much as this is about learning, we won’t just be sitting, as we will be practising some of the positions and how a birthing partner can provide support to help the Mother into these positions or to keep her there.

Please come in loose comfortable clothing so that you will be able to move freely, and layer up as you may get warm.

Mats will be provided to work on but please bring a birthing ball if you have one to practise some of the birthing positions and massage on.

PELVIC FLOOR WORKSHOP

This is a fun, friendly and informative workshop open to ladies of all ages, who either maybe have an issue with leaking, or have had a baby, even many years ago, and feel their pelvic floor isn’t what it used to be.

The workshop covers:

  • basic anatomy of the pelvic floor
  • correct posture and alignment
  • how to breathe efficiently
  • how to contract the pelvic floor effectively
  • how to relax the pelvic floor
  • how to effectively engage deep abdominals
  • how to take better care of the area

The workshop is ideal for you if:

  • you are pregnant
  • you are postnatal
  • you are peri/post menopausal
  • you leak on occasions
  • you leak when laughing, coughing or exercising
  • you suffer with urge incontinence
  • you want to be more pelvic floor aware

Please come in loose and comfortable clothing as this workshop will involve movement, as we try out different postures and stretches.

I can teach baby massage to parents, grandparents, guardians, carers, siblings, or anyone who wants to learn a skill that will last a lifetime.

Baby massage:

  • develops precious close one-to-one, skin-to-skin contact that is vital for bonding and reducing stress levels
  • relaxes both infant and parent
  • improves muscle strength, flexibility and suppleness
  • promotes better sleep
  • improves blood circulation
  • helps digestion and eases colic, constipation and wind
  • stimulates the release of natural endorphins which subdue pain and have a calming effect
  • may help infants aged under 6 months to sleep better, cry less and be less stressed (cite this paper – University of Warwick 8/11/06)

Important things to remember:

  • Minimum age is six weeks. There is no upper age limit, but once your infant has started crawling, keeping them in one position may be more difficult!
  • Wait 24 hours after an immunisation
  • If your infant is ill or has sickness or diarrhoea, they are better kept at home. Catch up sessions are always available for any missed sessions.
  • If your infant is receiving medical care they are still very welcome, as long as their consultant/doctor is happy with this
  • Massage isn’t comfortable for the baby to receive with a full tummy!
