HIIT CIRCUIT CLASS

This class is a 45 minute fat burning, strength building, low impact, high intensity class. It’s made up of 30 minutes of HIIT circuit followed by 15 minutes of a full body stretch and release.

Exercise needs to be FUN and not a chore, it needs to be seen as working with the body rather than punishing it and this is exactly what this class does. You will leave this class feeling energy boosted and with your body worked, stretched and released.

This class is not for any specific age group or ability. Whether you are pregnant, postnatal, in rehab, or just want a quick, low impact high intensity class this one is for you!

The focus of the class is adding strength and cardio to your movement whilst making sure the core and pelvic floor are targeted and respected.

We use bands, weights, kettlebells and body weight to achieve a full body workout, offering different levels suitable for all levels of ability. We also include balance work as well as coordination work to keep the brain active and challenged.

Babies are welcome to join with mum, but will be your responsibility.

You will need to fill out this form before starting your first session to make sure you are able to attend this class, and I will walk you around the circuit showing you how to safely do each exercise. Whilst the session continues I will walk around and encourage everyone to use correct posture, form and use their breathing and correct muscles to ensure you get the most out of each exercise and exercise safely.

What you will need:

  • Mats and equipment are provided but feel free to bring your own mat if you wish. You may exercise in trainers or bare feet whichever you prefer. With bare feet you will be working your body correctly and a little harder, but this may need to be worked on!
  • Please bring water with you, and I will provide some home made sugar free protein snacks for post exercise enjoyment!

Pricing

Payment for this class is made in blocks, as I don’t accept pay as you go:

  • £36 for 6 classes

Pregnancy Offerings

Pregnancy Exercise & Lifestyle Class

This is a weekly class held at Little Therapy Space, Wednesday evenings at 7pm.

Ladies are welcome to join once they are 12 weeks pregnant and can stay on with the class until they have their baby!

This class is for you if you want to get 100% clear on:

  • How to exercise safely in pregnancy without harming your baby
  • How to treat some pregnancy aches and pains effectively
  • Keeping your body strong for labour and challenges of being a new Mum
  • Learning stretches to aid your baby into an Optimal birthing position
  • Eating healthy and nutritious meals and snacks
  • Learn ways to relax your body and mind
  • Meeting other mums going through the same stage in life
  • Learn from a specialist

This is a weekly class held at Little Therapy Space, Wednesday evenings at 7pm. Ladies are welcome to join once they are 12 weeks pregnant and can stay on with the class until they have their baby! Some ladies still attend at 41 weeks, and I just cater some work for them!

The class is made up of a 30 minute circuit using bands, weights and body weight. You are encouraged to work to your own level as you are all at different stages of pregnancy and have different exercise backgrounds.

Each week we cover posture, breathing, pelvic floor contraction and activation of the deep abdominals. These will be worked into every day Mum movements making sure you use them correctly with good form and posture, and activate and engage your core rather than your back.

We cover stretches and movements for helping baby into the optimal birthing position which can be used at home during the week to help baby find its way into the position ideal for birth. As an experienced and specialist pregnancy and postnatal massage therapist I can also pass on advice and techniques on working with typical aches and pains in the upper and lower body and help you relieve them rather than try and cope with them.

We will also look at ways to stabilise and strengthen the pelvis, so keeping it mobile, flexible and strong to lessen the pain of pelvic girdle pain. I have had several women with this condition join in and found the class very beneficial.

We will always finish the session with some relaxation time, and use music and visualisations to work on the journey ahead. This is your time to relax and allow the body some well deserved quiet time in your busy week.

What you will need:

  • Mats and equipment are provided, including cushions and blankets for the relax time but please bring anything you feel you may need. Balls and bands used during class can be purchased if you wish to use them at home.
  • Please bring your own water for your use throughout the class
  • Come in comfortable clothing that is easy to move in. Bring layers as you may get very warm once you start working, and then chill once you start to relax.

Factsheets will be provided most weeks covering different areas of pregnancy, including nutrition, tips on sleeping, perineal massage, local professionals I can recommend, preparing for labour, and packing your hospital bag! You will be added to a Whats App group and a closed Facebook group which is a great way to communicate and grow friendships. Nutritious homemade protein balls are provided for you at the end of each session to help your body after its exercise!

“I went onto the pregnancy course and loved it so much I stayed and went onto the second course during my pregnancy. The knowledge I have learnt from Tanya is amazing and as a first time mum I don’t know what I would’ve done without her. I would highly recommend this class including the couple class that I attended last night with my partner to help me through labour. It also helped him understand what I’ll be going through and he really enjoyed it to!
I have also had a pregnancy massage that helped with pains I have been getting! Tanya will talk through before what kind of massage you would like and any problems you suffer from before you start which is really nice. Also a nice relaxing treat during what can be a stressful time in pregnancy!
Thank you! I’m sure I’ll be attending the classes after birth too!” – Lauren Norman

“Tanya’s classes are a great way to understand how best to exercise safely whilst pregnant, and teaches you the importance to pelvic floor exercise in preparation for birth and beyond. The on-line support through her FB group also means you feel like you have continued support and “good practice” reminders at every stage. The classes are super friendly, for all abilities and you get to meet lots of other lovely mums to be at the same time. I can honestly say that Tanya’s massages and classes combined have helped me to feel prepared and confident as I approach my due date, and I’m looking forward to signing up to her baby massage and post-natal classes just as soon as I’m ready.” – Rohan Wedge

“Completed both antenatal and postnatal exercise classes. Both classes were really enjoyable and I felt my body making progress every week. The support and encouragement as both prepared by body and promoted its recovery from having my gorgeous little boy. He has also enjoyed the classes and made his own progress. Thank you and well done for all you do!!”  – Lisa Yates Reynolds

“Highly recommend Tanya for her brilliant pregnancy exercise classes. They are tailored for all abilities and Tanya is great at making sure you are working hard but safely. As a result I have felt fit and strong throughout my pregnancy with no aches or pains. Will definitely be booking onto her postnatal class after our little one has arrived.” – Lucy Godfrey

“Excellent, not only at pregnancy massage but also i attended the pregnancy classes. made a big difference in my flexibility and posture which has helped a with various aches and pains and of course not forgetting the all important pelvic floor.” – Megan, Olney

POSTNATAL Offerings

POSTNATAL Exercise & Lifestyle Class

This course is suitable for women from 6 weeks after a natural birth or 12 weeks after a C section delivery.

Babies are very welcome to join us, and a special area is set up for them to lay or play on, within easy reach of mums.

Thursday 10-11am & 11:15am-12:15pm – Turvey Village Hall

This course is for you if you want to get 100% clear on:

– how to re engage your core and strengthen an abdominal separation (Diastasis Recti)
– how to exercise safely and correctly with everyday mum movements
– working with your pelvic floor to regain strength
– effective nutrition which is healing, healthy, tasty and quick to make
– how to work with your c section scar and what is normal
– feel confident about when you are able to start running or retuning to heavier exercise
– you want to bring your baby along

This course is suitable for women from 6 weeks after a natural birth or 12 weeks after a C section delivery. Babies are very welcome to join us, and a special area is set up for them to lay or play on, within easy reach of mums. If at any point your baby needs you, I am happy for babies to be fed, nappies changed as we go along and for you to meet their needs.

Specific work will be done with the pelvic floor and core to strengthen this area and work towards closing any Diastasis or separation which may be causing issues. This will be worked on through the course, building on each week so progression can be made. As a massage therapist specialising in pregnancy and postnatal ladies I also include tips on relieving typical aches and pains which we can get at this stage.

The first 6 weeks of this course we will work on connecting to your core and pelvic floor, and strengthening and using them within movement as well as on their own. The cardio part of the session will gradually increase over the weeks as you get used to returning to exercise.

Week 7 onwards starts to increase the intensity of the cardio, increasing your heart rate whilst still making sure your body is working correctly, using your core and not over stressing the pelvic floor.

Before starting the course you will be sent several short tutorial videos to watch on Posture, Breathing in exercise and use of pelvic floor contraction and relaxation.

It is essential for all mums attending this course to have had a Diastasis check with myself before starting. Further progress checks will be made at week 6 and week 12 either during or post class. This will be a free assessment and will give us a benchmark from which to work on. Once payment and booking forms are completed please book in with me at the clinic so this check can be made. We will also set at least one goal which again can be something to work towards. It can be anything of your choice like being able to exercise for 10-20 minutes without stopping or to find time in the day to practise some deep breathing or to run/jump/sneeze/laugh without peeing……your goal, your choice, so have a think!

Each week as part of the course you will receive a fact sheet containing:

  • One recipe or smoothie you can easily use that is healthy and healing
  • One positive affirmation you can use for the week to focus on
  • One restorative task you can try just for your recovery and healing
  • One video containing homework for the week of one strengthening exercise and one stretching one
  • Homemade protein balls after each session

Once you have started the course you will be added to a closed Facebook group and Whats App group where you can chat to the other ladies within the group and previous groups. You will have access to my experience and knowledge to be able to ask for advice on your postnatal recovery, either through this group or privately. You are welcome to stay within this group as long as it runs or take yourself out of it.

What you will need to bring:

  • Water for you
  • Come in comfortable clothing so you can move easily. Layer up as you will get warm
  • A blanket for baby to lay on over the mat

The course lasts for 12 weeks, comprising of 2 lots of 6 weeks. To complete the course it is essential to complete the 12 weeks. Post graduating from this course you will be able to join the 9am HIIT class on a Thursday for £5.

Pricing

Payment for the twelve weeks is £156. When paying for the course in full you will receive a £5 gift voucher to be used towards a massage with myself. Payment may also be made in 2 x instalments. The second payment can be made at week 6 for the following 6 week block, so 2 x £78. Payment must be made before second half of course commences.

Payment and receipt of your booking form will reserve your place on this course.

Numbers are capped at 8 for this course, so please book your place to avoid disappointment.

Testimonials

“After a c-section I was worried about how I would get my core stability back and I had never heard of abdominal separation. After Tanya’s first session where she explained how everything worked and checked how much separation I had it was interesting to know why I had no core strength. Week by week she worked on various areas and I always left with the knowledge required to continue the exercises at home. By the end of the first 6 weeks I was nearly back to pre pregnancy and by the end of the second 6 weeks I was back to where I should be. I went to a few more classes after this until I felt comfortable that I had recovered enough and could carry on with the exercises on my own. I will be returning to these classes after my next pregnancy and know that I wouldn’t have recovered properly without Tanya’s knowledge and expertise. The classes are very relaxed and Tanya is very patient and easygoing. I took my baby along and it was no problem at all, if he got bored or upset, Tanya scooped him up allowing me to continue focusing on myself. Cannot recommend enough” – Jo, Turvey

“I went to see Tanya initially for massage, but decided to take part in her Post-natal exercise class as I have a diastasis and a couple of back problems. The class has been amazingly helpful for me in many ways. We went right back to basics with pelvic floor and core stability and looked at various strengthening exercises. I have done Body Control Pilates for several years, but Tanya’s class was better than anything I have learnt at Pilates and has given me the foundation knowledge to always do my Pilates correctly and to get the most out of it. After just five weeks, my Diastasis has reduced from three fingers to just over two, I feel stronger in my core and Glutes, stand better and I can even see the difference it has made. I enjoyed the class so much that I am aiming to join future classes for a refresher!” – Natalie Ibbott Rogers

BABY MASSAGE

An hours tuition where I will run over the full body routine, and cover the wind and colic routine also, including some reflexology you can use. There is then time for a half hour chat and snack time with home made healthy snacks, tea, herbal tea, coffee or water.

If I am your baby, please touch me
I need your touch in ways you never know
Don’t just wash and change and feed me,
But rock me close, kiss my face and stroke my body
Your soothing gentle touch says security and love

I can teach baby massage to parents, grandparents, guardians, carers, siblings, or anyone who wants to learn a skill that will last a lifetime.

Baby massage:

  • develops precious close one-to-one, skin-to-skin contact that is vital for bonding and reducing stress levels
  • relaxes both infant and parent
  • improves muscle strength, flexibility and suppleness
  • promotes better sleep
  • improves blood circulation
  • helps digestion and eases colic, constipation and wind
  • stimulates the release of natural endorphins which subdue pain and have a calming effect
  • may help infants aged under 6 months to sleep better, cry less and be less stressed (cite this paper – University of Warwick 8/11/06)

Important things to remember:

  • Minimum age is six weeks. There is no upper age limit, but once your infant has started crawling, keeping them in one position may be more difficult!
  • Wait 24 hours after an immunisation
  • If your infant is ill or has sickness or diarrhoea, they are better kept at home. Catch up sessions are always available for any missed sessions.
  • If your infant is receiving medical care they are still very welcome, as long as their consultant/doctor is happy with this
  • Massage isn’t comfortable for the baby to receive with a full tummy!

The workshop is held at Little Therapy Space in Olney and consists of an hours tuition where I will run over the full body routine, and cover the wind and colic routine also, including some reflexology you can use. “Lovely baby massage course, with demonstrations and lots of very useful information. Was a lovely atmosphere and no pressure even when babies were crying. Went at a lovely slow place and even sent Oliver to sleep afterwards. Would highly recommend and the protein ball were also very yummy!
The wax used has also left Olivers skin feeling lovely and soft, better than any moisturisers we have used. Very friendly too!!” Heidi Rose-Marie D’Ippolito

I had a number of massages during my pregnancy as well as learning baby massage once my baby was born. I couldn’t recommend Tanya enough.” Justine Watkins-Smith

WHAT LOVELY PEOPLE ARE SAYING

I would highly recommend using Tanya during pregnancy. After discovering her during my first pregnancy, I didn't hesitate to get in touch with her when I became pregnant with my second child. I've been to many spas/salons but Tanya is by far the best massage I've ever had. That coupled with her expertise means that she can work on specific areas and her massages always left me feeling relaxed and fab!
Also, her ability to listen and connect with you as a person is a unique skill and gave me complete confidence in her work. I would recommend her to anyone!
